D.I.G.G. [Inspired by the Mind of Jution]

To read the original post from Inside the Mind of Jution click here.

It's something we should all live by.
Just like W.W.J.D. [What Would Jesus Do], we should ask ourselves D.I.G.G. [Does It Glorify God].

Everything we do, everything we say, everything we represent. Does it glorify God?

Think about it.

What do you think? What do you do? Does it glorify God?

Rachek in Wonderland

As my parents have been in this class, they've had many many projects. Some of you may have seen the video 'Tinkl Bell' featuring me sitting on the toilet. It's unfortunate. I will post that video on here, once my mom uploads her video from that week. The video my mom made that week also features me, but in a nicer and more appealing way that 'Tinkl Bell' did. I'm waiting for that one to be uploaded so I can embed the two videos together.

The above picture is one my mom and I worked on for her Photoshop week. It's supposed to be me farming a office-supplies farm. A paper clip garden with thumb-tac flowers. Cow-pencil sharpeners, and pencil/sticky note/tac trees. I just think it's so cool.

If you have read this from Facebook, go to the actual blog if the picture doesn't show up.

Haven't Posted in a While

Hello readers of the Rachek Blog.
Have I ever mentioned how pleased I am that I have a handful of people who actually read this. I'm pleased :)

Typically when I'm beginning conversations with my friends online I say 'Hey, what's up?' So here's 'what's up' with me:

On a happy note I'm greatly honoured to announce I finally downloaded the new Resident Hero album last night. Resident Hero is one of those bands I don't think I'll ever get sick of. I found out about them through Flyleaf [my favourite band]. Ryan White, singer of the trio that is Resident Hero, sang back up on many songs on Flyleaf's first album, including my favourite Flyleaf song 'So I Thought.' Days when I was bored back when I was first getting into Flyleaf I would look up articles about them and read information. One article I read mentioned the connection between them and a lesser known band, Resident Hero. I looked them up, and at the time I was using iTunes to purchase my music, so I checked out what they had on there. At the time they only had 'The White EP' by them, which includes three songs: 'Vendetta Black,' 'Happy Without Me,' and 'Stepping Through.' I listened and enjoyed. Those of you who have heard of the band Vendetta Red will find the title 'Vendetta Black' of the Resident Hero song very familiar. Ryan White, singer of Resident Hero, has quoted many times that Vendetta Red is his favourite band, and the song 'Vendetta Black' was written bout when they broke up. This led me to check out Vendetta Red, and come to the conclusion I didn't like them half as much as I liked Resident Hero, but you can hear the similarities in the music. I then downloaded the first independently released albums that Resident Hero had released. None of these albums proved to be as good as the newest EP was, but I still enjoyed them. Then, just this last month, Resident Hero finally released their newest album 'Look' featuring the three songs previously released on 'The White EP' and two songs released for free download from one of their sites. I really like the new album, and I've listened to it a couple times in entirety since I downloaded it. Maybe I'll post some videos of theirs on here in a future post.

I have yet to buy the new Eleventyseven album that came out earlier this summer as well. I haven't been able to find it here in Thailand, so I'm just going to wait until I'm back in the states to buy it. I would rather not download it because I have their two previous albums, case and all, and would like to keep the tradition. Last summer, I got their first two albums signed by none-other than the beautiful Matt Langston, singer of Eleventyseven.

In more music news, Flyleaf's new album is set to come out on October 27th!!! I AM SO EXCITED. I am highly convinced that October is going to be the best month of my life. Firstly, my favourite band releases their new album, and I'm going to see all my friends back in the states again. Plus, it's October, I love autumn! The orange pumpkins, chilly breeze, beautifully multicoloured leaves falling from the trees, a bouquet of freshly sharpened pencils. Ahhhh. It's the best!

Today I finished reading 'The Memory Keeper's Daughter' by Kim Edwards, which was a pretty spiffy book. It was a heartfelt tale of a family who has a daughter with Down Syndrome. There were a couple of twists I didn't see coming, which always makes a good story. It was well-written and engaging, and I actually shed a single salty tear at the end.

Lately I've been getting prepared for our return to the States. Please, if you do not know of this news, go now to my family's blog Baldwin Boomerang or contact my parents. I'm actually looking forward to our return 'home.' I have to put home in quotes because I really don't consider it my home anymore. If you asked me back in June where I considered my home, I would have said Australia, but now I've been to Thailand. I don't think I can say that Thailand is my home, though. I am very much attached to this beautiful country, but I don't feel like I've found home here. God still has a plan for me, He knows where I'm going to end up. So for now, my future is unclear to me, but I have to learn to embrace the season I'm in. Embrace wherever I am and whatever I'm doing to glorify God. This is part of my mission.

Is there anything else up with me? I'm thinking but I can't come up with anything. There will be more frequent blog-posts in the future. Be prepared :P

De'Days

So every day when my parents are out of class, we have to get some lunch. It's a natural thing that we humans do. Eat. Usually we head around the corner to a restaurant called De'Days. We've been there at least seven times in the past five days, and we go almost every day. It's super tasty Thai food, made by a really nice family who speak some English. The following video is one a guy in my parents class did for one of the projects they had to do in class.
